X-Men '97 Renewed for a Third Season as Season Two Window Is Set
X-Men '97 has been renewed for a third season, and a release window has been set for its second season, according to reporting by Animation World Network.
The renewal means Marvel Animation is committing to the series beyond the second season before that season has even arrived, a sign of confidence in the animated revival. For viewers, it removes any uncertainty about whether the story of the show's return would stop at two seasons.
Setting a window for season two also gives fans a timeframe to plan around after the success of the first season on Disney+. The series revived the world and style of the classic animated X-Men for a modern streaming audience, and it has remained one of Marvel Animation's flagship titles since its debut.
No plot information about either upcoming season is included in this report. Official dates and further details are expected from Marvel and Disney as the second season's launch draws closer, and the third season will follow in due course on Disney+.
