Marvel Studios Reveals the Cast for Its New X-Men Movie at D23
Marvel Studios has officially revealed the cast for its new X-Men movie, making the announcement during its presentation at D23. The reveal gives the project its first confirmed cast, moving it from a long-discussed addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe into a film with named performers attached in an official capacity.
The announcement was part of Marvel's showing at the Disney fan event, where the studio used the stage to present its upcoming plans. For the X-Men, the casting reveal is a significant step: it is the point at which a reboot stops being only a title and a release plan on a slate and starts taking shape as a production built around a specific ensemble.
No story details were included in the announcement as reported, and none are described here. Marvel has kept the focus on the cast itself and on the film's place in its future theatrical plans.
Attention will now turn to what Marvel confirms next about the movie, including any further official announcements about its schedule. For now, the D23 reveal stands as the studio's formal introduction of the team that will lead its new X-Men film.
