Ultron built the Vision to be a weapon, so the Vision answered in kind: he built people of his own. In The Vision #1 (2015), by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta, the synthezoid Avenger returns to the laboratory logic of his own creation and constructs a family — a wife, Virginia, modelled in part on the brain patterns of Scarlet Witch, and teenage twins, Viv and Vin, blended from his own and Virginia's patterns.
Then he gave his creations the most radical assignment in his long life: be ordinary. The family moved into a house in Arlington, Virginia, outside Washington, D.C., where Vision worked as the Avengers' liaison to the White House, the twins enrolled at a local high school, and everyone practised the small rituals of suburban normality — welcoming neighbours, answering the door, phasing politely through it when knocking took too long.
The experiment's tragedy is that normality had to be defended like a secret identity. When the Grim Reaper attacked the home and nearly killed Viv, Virginia killed him and buried him in the backyard, and the family began keeping the kind of secret no ordinary household keeps. The twelve-issue series that followed — winner of the Eisner Award for Best Limited Series — is the story of people built to be normal discovering what normal people will do to protect a home.
Why It's Obscure
He was manufactured to destroy the Avengers. He manufactured a family to join the neighbourhood.
