Today's Fact
Checked against independent sources — the issues are cited below.
Death kept turning her back on him, so Thanos stopped courting and started manufacturing. In Infinity Gauntlet #3 (1991), wearing the completed Gauntlet, he created Terraxia out of nothing — a towering female Titan shaped in his own likeness, announced to Death as everything she was not and everything his soul longed for.
Terraxia earned her keep the moment Earth's heroes stormed his shrine in Infinity Gauntlet #4. She tore Iron Man's head off and presented it to Thanos like a party favor, then beat Spider-Man to death with a rock — two of the gauntlet war's ugliest kills, delivered by a being who had existed for a matter of hours.
Her creator's carelessness ended her in Infinity Gauntlet #5. After Nebula seized the Gauntlet and undid the slaughter, she banished Thanos and Terraxia into deep space — where Terraxia promptly suffocated, because the omnipotent Titan had built his perfect companion with a working need to breathe and never thought to remove it.
Why It's Obscure
He snapped half the universe out of existence for love, then handcrafted a replacement sweetheart and missed one small design detail.
