ROCKET CAME HOME TO HALFWORLD — AND FOUND LYLLA MARRIED TO BLACKJACK O'HARE!
The Featured Fact

Rocket did not just leave Halfworld; he made leaving permanent. Before departing, he put himself through an immersion-therapy mind-wipe so the homesickness could never drag him back, and flew off carrying only edited, fairy-tale versions of the life he had lived there. The flaw in the plan is that everybody he left behind kept living theirs at full resolution.

That included Lylla, the otter he had loved since their caretaker days. Lylla waited, then did the sensible thing: she moved on, and married Blackjack O'Hare — the hare mercenary who had started as Rocket’s rival for her hand, kidnapped her more than once, and ended the Toy War fighting on her side. Of every creature in the Keystone Quadrant, she chose the one with the longest history of pointing guns at her first boyfriend.

When Rocket finally returned to Halfworld with his memories in tatters, he attacked Blackjack on sight before Lylla stepped in, subdued him, and walked him through the years he had deleted — including her wedding. To his credit, the raccoon who solves most problems with ordnance solved this one by standing down: he gave the couple his blessing and left them to the planet he had once guarded.

Why It's Obscure

He erased Halfworld so thoroughly that Halfworld had time to hold a wedding without him.

The Mind-Wipe
Rocket’s departure paperwork was written inside his own skull. The therapy that kept him from coming home also guaranteed that if he ever did come home, he would arrive as a stranger with a gun.
The Groom
Blackjack’s arc is the quiet miracle of the story: kidnapper, mercenary, ally, husband. Lylla did not settle for a safer otter — she married the reformed villain of her own story.
