Today's Fact

In The Savage She-Hulk #11–12 (1981), Jennifer Walters was dying of a degenerative blood disease no doctor could treat — except one. Dr. Michael Morbius, then human again after a lightning strike had reversed his vampirism and working at UCLA while awaiting trial for his earlier killings, recognized the condition because it mirrored his own. He brewed a serum that could save her.
The catch was brutal: the same serum was the one dose that could keep Morbius himself cured and free of the bloodlust. He resisted drinking it, gave it to Walters instead, and it worked twice over — it cured her disease and stabilized her gamma-driven changes, so that from then on she could become She-Hulk, or change back, by an act of will rather than by rage or accident.
The debt ran both ways. Walters, a lawyer, took on Morbius’s defense, and the man introduced as a Spider-Man monster walked out of the storyline as the physician who handed one of Marvel’s strongest heroes command of her own body.
Why It's Obscure
The monster prescribed the medicine — and billed himself for it.
