Today's Fact
Her origin was not a laboratory accident she stumbled into — her enemies built the trap, locked her inside it, and handed her the weapon.
The debut concert of K-pop group 4L1T at Stark Arena in Seoul should have been the biggest night of Seol Hee's life. Instead it was an ambush years in the planning: the A.I.M. agent Joro Spider, real name Jae Hwa Kwak, had secretly sold the show's producers stage technology carrying an A.I.M. Trojan program, purely so her cell could reach the arena's cold fusion supply while the building was live. Her origin is told in Future Fight Firsts: Luna Snow Vol. 1 #1 (2019).
When A.I.M. seized the stage, Seol Hee talked back — and Joro Spider, impressed enough to keep her conscious, had the singers thrown into the arena's cryo-reactor to freeze as an audience of one watched. The trap misfired spectacularly. Seol Hee's body absorbed the reactor's freezing energy instead of succumbing to it, and she answered with an icy blast that scattered the soldiers holding her friends.
She finished her first fight by encasing Joro Spider herself in ice, though the agent overloaded her own suit to shatter free and escape. The crowd, which had watched a hostage rescue performed live on stage, chanted the name it already knew from the playbill — Luna — and the press bolted a surname onto the weather she had made. Luna Snow was a stage name that a supervillain's failed freezer had promoted into a codename.
Why It's Obscure
Most heroes thank their rescuers; Seol Hee's powers were delivered by the villain, at the venue, in front of a paying audience.
