SHE HAD SINGLES OUT BEFORE SHE HAD A SINGLE PANEL — LUNA SNOW DEBUTED IN A VIDEO GAME, A YEAR BEFORE HER FIRST COMIC!

The Featured Fact

Luna Snow’s first appearance wasn’t in a comic book at all. Seol Hee debuted on January 24, 2018 as an original playable character in Netmarble’s mobile game Marvel Future Fight — created by Bill Rosemann and Danny Koo of Marvel Games and designed by artist Jee-Hyung Lee. Her first actual comic, War of the Realms: New Agents of Atlas #1, didn’t arrive until May 2019 — more than a year later.

And Marvel launched her like a real idol, because in her world she is one. The fictional K-pop star’s debut single “Tonight” was genuinely released in February 2018 — a real song, for a character who existed only inside a phone game. In the comics, Seol Hee fronts the girl group 4L1T and took up performing to support the grandmother who raised her after her parents died.

Her origin crossed over from the game with her. Performing at Stark Arena when A.I.M. attacked, Seol Hee was trapped inside a malfunctioning cold fusion reactor — and came out with cryokinetic powers, which she used to defeat the attackers on the spot. Her signature ice is two-toned, straight from her game design: dark ice that destroys, and light ice that heals.
