Today's Fact
The assassin who built her reputation on having no powers at all walked out of one rescue owing a debt she could only settle in flesh.
For most of her career Lady Bullseye was purely human: a master martial artist whose still pulse and faint scent frustrated Daredevil, with no mutation or serum behind any of it. That changed during the hunt for the retired assassin Cape Crow in Elektra Vol. 4 (2014), where she fought Elektra to a standstill, was left for dead, and was then partly eaten by the ability-stealing killer Bloody Lips, who absorbs talents by consuming pieces of his victims.
She survived Bloody Lips, survived his aircraft going down in the Arctic, and crawled out of the cold with nothing left to bargain with. The Assassins Guild pulled her out and healed her, and because she had no money to pay them, she settled the bill by volunteering for an experimental treatment they had been waiting to test on somebody expendable.
The procedure rewired her body so she could dissolve into a gaseous, intangible form and pull herself back together at will — a genuine superpower, bought outright, for a woman who had prided herself on needing none. She returned to finish her fight with Elektra in Elektra Vol. 4 #7 (2014), drifting through attacks that would have killed her a month earlier, until Elektra outthought the new body and tricked her into turning solid again at the worst possible moment.
Why It's Obscure
A lifetime of discipline bought her skills. One unpaid medical bill bought her a power — and she has treated both as weapons ever since.
