Today's Fact

During the Fear Itself crisis, Cain Marko picked up one of the Serpent's fallen hammers and marched on San Francisco as Kuurth, Breaker of Stone, a Worthy powered by an Asgardian fear god. Every conventional X-Men assault broke against him, so Cyclops sent a delegation somewhere no strike team could go: the Crimson Cosmos itself, to file a complaint with Marko's own patron, Cyttorak.
Magik teleported herself, Kitty Pryde and her brother Colossus before the demon lord in Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1 #542 (2011) to report that his avatar was spreading terror in another deity's name. Cyttorak treated the hammer as infidelity. He stripped the Juggernaut's power from Marko on the spot and moved to bestow it on Magik instead, judging her the worthier vessel.
Piotr Rasputin stepped between his little sister and the offer, volunteering his own body in her place. The transfer remade the X-Men's gentle farmer into a steel-skinned Juggernaut, complete with the crimson helmet and armor of Cyttorak layered over his organic steel form. In the following issue he drove the depowered Kuurth backward until the Serpent personally recalled his Worthy rather than lose him, and Marko finished the event as an ordinary man who later retired to farm in Utah.
Why It's Obscure
Marko spent decades insisting nobody could take his power. His own god repossessed it over a loyalty clause.
