Today's Fact
She can judge a plasmoid burst to the inch and land a routine that nearly went to the Olympics. Ask her to do arithmetic in her head and the fireworks stop.
Buried in Marvel's official character profile for Jubilation Lee, between the gymnastics honours and the thieving skills, sits a line most readers skate straight past: Jubilee is dyscalculic. She has great difficulty performing mathematical calculations in her head, and the struggle does not disappear when she writes the numbers down on paper.
It is a startling entry on the file of a mutant whose control is measured in precision. The same mind that times plasmoid detonations, judges blast radii on the move and spent childhood training at an Olympic gymnastics standard cannot reliably carry a column of figures.
Marvel never turned it into a Very Special Issue. It simply stays on the record, a permanent, ordinary difficulty carried by a character usually defined by spectacle — and a reminder that her file lists a learning condition in the same breath as world-class training.
Why It's Obscure
Not every entry in a hero's file is a power. One of Jubilee's is a difficulty she has carried her whole career.
