Jubilee Fact — November 3, 2026

Today's Fact

Stripped of her fireworks, she refused the sidelines and reported for duty in borrowed gravity, outranking almost everyone around her.

DEPOWERED ON M-DAY, JUBILEE REBRANDED AS WONDRA — LIFTING LOCOMOTIVES WITH GRAVITY GAUNTLETS!

The Featured Fact

When the Scarlet Witch's Decimation wave swept the world, Jubilation Lee was one of the mutants who woke up ordinary. Her plasmoid fireworks — the light show she had performed since she was a mall rat — were simply gone, and she threw herself into running a halfway house for other depowered mutants in Queens instead of waiting for a miracle.

The miracle, when it came, wore a mask and carried hardware. Night Thrasher recruited Jubilee as the first member of his new New Warriors in New Warriors Vol. 4 #1 (2007) — a team of depowered mutants fighting crime with reverse-engineered technology in defiance of the post-Civil War registration regime. Jubilee took a new codename for the job: Wondra.

Wondra's suit was built around derivatives of the villain Wizard's Wonder Gloves: gauntlets lined with micro-circuitry that rides gravitational waves to multiply her strength, shown in New Warriors Vol. 4 #2 hoisting a freight train locomotive overhead. The kit also projected a force field and flew on anti-gravity tech — and Jubilee, the former sidekick, served as Night Thrasher's second-in-command and ran the team's training sessions.

Why It's Obscure

Everyone else remembered her as Wolverine's tagalong. The New Warriors got the drill sergeant version.

M-Day

Quiet hands — Decimation takes Jubilee's plasmoids, and her first response is shelter work for mutants who lost exactly what she lost.

2007

First recruit — Night Thrasher builds his outlaw New Warriors out of the depowered, and the very first name on his list is Jubilation Lee.

The gauntlets

Borrowed gravity — Her Wondra gloves adapt the Wizard's Wonder Gloves, channeling gravitational waves into strength, shielding and flight.

Second-in-command

Tagalong no longer — Wondra does not just join the team; she trains it, answering only to Night Thrasher himself.
