Today's Fact

The X-Men were keeping a monster in the basement, and Jubilee was the one having nightmares about it. After Professor Xavier brought the captive Sabretooth into the mansion, the teenager dreamed night after night of Victor Creed breaking loose and killing the X-Men one by one — the dread that opens X-Men Vol. 2 #28 (1994). She fought the fear the only way she knew: she volunteered to carry the prisoner his food, forcing herself to face him through the bars of his cell.
Then, in Uncanny X-Men #311 (1994), the nightmare clocked in for real. A power failure at the school killed the security systems and opened Creed’s cell. Sabretooth caught Jubilee, and when she would not beg — even with Creed promising her a slow, painful death — she blasted him in the face with her plasmoids instead. Bishop drove the killer back through a wall and chased him into the tunnels beneath the mansion, supercharged on the school’s own wiring.
Bishop’s borrowed charge ran dry at the worst possible moment, with Creed standing over him ready to finish it. The rescue came from the smallest person in the fight: Jubilee arrived with a neural scattershot pistol and knocked Sabretooth out cold. The girl who had dreamed about him killing everyone she loved was the one who ended his rampage — with the mansion’s biggest gun and both hands shaking.
Why It's Obscure
She dreamed he would kill them all. When he got loose, the dreamer was the one holding the weapon.
