Today's Fact

On a world built only for mutants, Alex Summers stopped running long enough to build a family — and then volunteered to unbuild his own history.

HAVOK MARRIED THE WASP IN A DEAD TIMELINE — AND KANG STOLE THEIR DAUGHTER KATIE!
The Featured Fact

When the Apocalypse Twins let a Celestial erase Earth and herded mutantkind onto Planet X, Havok and the Wasp — Janet van Dyne, the last human alive on that world — spent years in hiding together. In that stolen time they fell in love, married, and raised a daughter, Katie Summers, who debuted in Uncanny Avengers Vol. 1 #18 (2014).

Rewinding the catastrophe was the only way to save everyone, yet travelling back would erase every child born on Planet X, Katie included. Alex balked at trading his daughter for a planet until Kang the Conqueror removed the choice: he lifted Katie out of the timestream, promised her back once the timeline was repaired, and sent the Unity Squad's minds hurtling home without her.

Earth was restored and the marriage survived in memory even after the years themselves were unwritten. Immortus later offered a narrow hope — conceive again at precisely the right moment and the same daughter could return — but the inversion curse of AXIS poisoned the reunion, and Katie remains a Summers child who officially never existed, impossible to resurrect because no version of her was ever born in the repaired timeline.

Why It's Obscure

Scott got the time-lost daughter and the clone saga; Alex got a whole family that exists only in the memory of the people who lost it.

Planet X
A wedding off the books of history — Alex and Janet's marriage happened in a future the Avengers then deliberately erased to save Earth.
Six years
The hiding years — The couple spent roughly six years fugitive on Planet X while secretly working on a way back through time.
Kang's vault
A daughter held as collateral — Kang kept Katie in the slipstream as his guarantee that Havok would finish the job of restoring Earth.
No grave
The un-resurrectable Summers — Krakoa's resurrection protocols cannot help a child with no birth and no genetic record in the surviving timeline.
