Today's Fact
Between Blaze and Robbie, the curse spent a year in the hands of a teenager raised for the job.
Alejandra Jones was sold by her own father as a child and ended up in Nicaragua, where a man calling himself Adam raised her alongside other orphans inside a temple, training the whole group from childhood for one purpose: to produce the next Ghost Rider. When Johnny Blaze agreed to surrender the curse, Adam resurrected the Seeker and let the spirit choose — and Alejandra reached for the burning chain herself in Ghost Rider Vol. 7 #1 (2011), debuting mid-Fear Itself against Sin in Dayton, Ohio.
Adam's curriculum had a final exam nobody had mentioned. Mephisto warned Blaze that the first man intended to use his Rider to burn every trace of sin out of humanity at once, leaving the species alive but mindless and emotionless. Given the order to purge her fellow students, Alejandra refused, was enslaved for refusing, and was later hauled to a space station so her magnified power could wash the whole planet through a camera lens.
She broke the plan from inside it, wrecking the station and saving Blaze, then rode into Hell itself to win back the Nicaraguan souls her forced purge had taken. In Ghost Rider Vol. 7 #9 (2012) the Spirit of Vengeance passed back to Johnny Blaze, and Alejandra walked away from both of the men who had tried to script her life — Adam, who raised her as a weapon, and Blaze, who arrived too late to be her teacher.
Why It's Obscure
Her run lasted nine issues, wedged between two famous Riders, and most summaries skip straight past her.
