Today's Fact

Wade Wilson's most closely guarded family secret has nothing to do with healing factors. In Deadpool Vol. 3 (2013), during 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' arc by Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn, Wade learned that a brief romance with a woman named Carmelita Camacho had produced a daughter, Eleanor 'Ellie' Camacho — a child he had never met, raised entirely without him.
Carmelita had once tracked Wade down to ask for child support, and he refused, insisting a child that beautiful could not possibly be his. Years later the Butler, the man who had run the program that experimented on Wade, kidnapped mother and daughter as insurance against Deadpool and held them in North Korea — and Carmelita died there before Wade could fight his way to her.
Ellie survived because the Butler handed her to his own brother Joshua to raise under another life, a secret S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Emily Preston uncovered through a vision granted by the eye of Uatu the Watcher. Wade rescued Ellie from U.L.T.I.M.A.T.U.M., had her officially declared dead on paper, and placed her with Preston's family — a mercenary's version of fatherhood: visit quietly, and keep every gun in his world pointed away from her street.
Why It's Obscure
The Merc with a Mouth, silenced by a paternity reveal — and for once, the joke he refused to make was about himself.
