Today's Fact

Alison Blaire's strangest family tie is not a stage name or a bandmate — it is a Mojoverse warrior with two swords. In X-Factor Vol. 1 #259 (2013), writer Peter David confirmed that Shatterstar is the biological son of Dazzler and Longshot, a revelation that rewired decades of X-Force and X-Factor stories in a single issue.
The pieces had been scattered for years. Longshot was an engineered rebel from the Mojoverse, Dazzler had fought beside him and loved him during her own Mojoverse exile, and Shatterstar arrived on Earth as an arena-bred gladiator with no ordinary childhood to point to. The 2013 reveal tied those loose threads together: the gladiator's parents were the singer and the stunt-bodied freedom fighter all along.
Time travel did the rest of the hiding. Shatterstar's life looped through the Mojoverse in ways that let a son grow up inside the same rebellion his parents later joined, so teammates treated him as a contemporary while the family math quietly refused to add up. Few parentage reveals in X-Men history waited quite so long, or rearranged quite so many old panels, once the answer finally landed.
Why It's Obscure
A disco mutant, a Mojoverse rebel, and a gladiator son whose birth certificate needed a time machine to read.
