Every plan had failed, so the last plan was a bargain with a demon. During the Fear Itself crisis, the original Juggernaut had accepted power from a second god and was marching on the mutant homeland unstoppably. The counter-move, hatched for Uncanny X-Men #542 (2011), was theological: travel to the Crimson Cosmos and inform the entity Cyttorak that his own avatar was cheating on him with another deity, then offer a replacement vessel.
The replacement was supposed to be Piotr's sister, who had devised the scheme and fully intended to pay its price herself. Piotr Rasputin stepped in front of her at the decisive moment and took the power onto his own shoulders instead, erupting out of the encounter in Cyttorak's crimson armour — the domed helmet, the bands, the whole unstoppable silhouette — stacked on top of his organic steel mutation.
The combination worked exactly once, perfectly: the new Juggernaut met the old one head-on in Uncanny X-Men #543 (2011) and drove him back from the city. Then the bill started arriving in instalments — a growing appetite for destruction, a relationship that could not survive what he was becoming, and months of arguing with a god who had no interest in giving his favourite weapon back.
Why It's Obscure
The gentlest man on his team volunteered to become its most famous wrecking ball, and the volunteer form was his own sister's name crossed out.
