Bullseye's feud with Daredevil peaked when he murdered Elektra with her own sai (Daredevil #181, 1982) — then went to Matt Murdock's home to ambush him. The fight ran across rooftops and up a high telephone wire. Bullseye stood on the wire; Daredevil jumped on it; Bullseye fell. Daredevil caught him by the wrist — and Bullseye shouted “NO! You won't save me!” Daredevil let go.
The multi-story fall broke Bullseye's back and paralyzed him. He was finished — until Japanese scientist Lord Dark Wind (Kenji Oyama), inventor of a process that fuses adamantium to the human skeleton, spirited him away to Japan. Dark Wind laced Bullseye's bones with adamantium and restored his mobility — in exchange for service as his assassin.
So the world's deadliest marksman walks around with an unbreakable skeleton because his nemesis dropped him. The adamantium even saved him later: when his father Kingmaker tried to transfer his brain into Bullseye's body, the indestructible skull could not be penetrated — and the distraction let Bullseye kill his father.
Why It's Obscure
Everybody knows Bullseye never misses. Almost nobody knows his skeleton is adamantium — and that Daredevil is the reason.
