Today's Fact
When the Mad Titan came collecting a tribute of Inhuman children, the silent king answered at full volume.
Thanos sent Corvus Glaive to Attilan demanding the heads of every Inhuman between sixteen and twenty-two, a tribute designed to flush out his hidden son, Thane. Black Bolt refused, evacuated his people from the floating city and stayed behind to receive the Titan personally, as told in Infinity Vol. 1 #3 (2013).
Alone in his capital, the king finally used the weapon he spends his life suppressing. He shouted directly at Thanos, and the hypersonic force of that voice tore Attilan apart around them both — the city he ruled became rubble in the course of a single conversation he had waited decades to have.
The destruction also triggered the Terrigen Bomb that Maximus had built at his brother's request. Its mists spread across the entire planet, awakening latent Inhuman ancestry in thousands of unsuspecting people, including Thane himself. Thanos still won the fistfight that followed and carried the weakened king away as a prisoner, yet the shout had already rewritten the species forever.
Why It's Obscure
Diplomacy usually ends with signatures. This negotiation ended with a capital city in freefall.
